First Baptist Church is a part of the Kingdom of God but not the sum total of it.

What Does Membership Mean?
Church members commit to joining a spiritual family who provides encouragement and support. They are called to a higher degree of responsibility, service, and sacrifice. Our pastors and ministry leaders pledge to assist our members with care, counsel, prayer, and teaching. It’s our hope that you will commit to being a member at First Baptist Church.

Four Reasons to Be a Member Of A Church…
  • It’s Biblical - Christ is committed to the church. “…Christ loved the church, and gave himself up for her.” (Eph. 5:25 ESV)
  • It’s Countercultural - It is an antidote to our society. We live in an age when people resist being committed to anything – a job, a marriage, our country. Partnership swims against the current of America’s “consumer religion.” It is an unselfish decision.
  • It’s Practical - It defines those upon whom we can depend. Every team must have a roster. Every school must have an enrollment. Every business has a payroll. Every army has an enlistment. Even our country takes a census and requires voter registration. Membership identifies our church family.
  • It’s Healthy - It produces spiritual growth. The Bible gives major emphasis for the need of Christians to be accountable to each other for spiritual growth. You cannot be accountable when you’re not committed to a specific church family.
When you become a part of the First Baptist Church family, you are acknowledging three things
  • The lordship of Jesus the Christ – that Jesus the Christ is lord of all;
  • The priesthood of all believers - which simply means that both people and pastor are all called to serve as God’s transformative agents in the world and that the work of ministry belongs to all believers; and
  • The active nature of God – that God is still active and moving in the world by God’s Holy Spirit.
